Celebrity Big Brother roundup: all the scandals so far
What feels like months ago, Celebrity Big Brother had its launch show on 5th January 2016. Since then, we have seen the twisted Brady Brunch hitting the headlines practically every day. Unbelievably we are only about halfway through the show, and yet we’ve been privy to baby news, shocking tragedy, forbidden romance and the usual raging arguments.
If you’ve missed any of the billions of headlines over the past two weeks, we’re here to provide a roundup of all the most scandalous scandals to occur so far.
Kristina’s bun in the oven
In what definitely wasn’t a PR stunt (not at all, not one bit), Kristina wasted no time in gathering the housemates for a shock announcement.
The shocking news that music icon David Bowie had died of cancer, rocked the nation on 10th January. Housemate and ex-wife of the singer, Angie, was notified of his death offscreen before deciding to stay in the house. What followed were some of the most appalling and cringeworthy moments of television. Angie decided to confide in housemate Tiffany Pollard who completely misunderstood the tragic news and believed Angie was telling her that fellow housemate David Gest had died. Unsure if it was a prank or a joke she ran screaming through the house, leaving Angie to despair. Piers Morgan called it “nasty, exploitative and sick” and for once, we might agree with him. You can make up your own mind.
Let the fake tears fall
We’d barely recovered from Tiffany’s outburst before Kim K’s BFF Jonathan Cheban decided to leave. Just SEVEN days after entering the house, Jonathan claimed he was feeling claustrophobic and that he just wanted to go home. No-one seemed that fussed really. Gemma was the most upset by the news, although she might have just been weeping over the loss of Kim Kardashian as a potential new friend.
Two young, attractive, single housemates have started PDA-ing all over the place. We never saw that one coming! Geordie Shore’s Scotty T and Ex on the Beach star Megan McKenna wasted no time in getting down and dirty.
Megan loses her sh*t
In the space of two days, Megan McKenna manages to take the title of batsh*t crazy housemate with three separate foul-mouthed screaming matches – seemingly with no-one in particular. Known for being a little volatile, the Ex on the Beach star absolutely kicked off about mashed potato amongst other things. Her first rant was due to her being so hungry her “belly hurt” but it was her second tirade and the “explanation” afterwards that really hit headlines.
The Stephanie/Jeremy forbidden romance has had us all glued to our screens from launch night. Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis and former (or fake) Mr. Ireland, Jeremy McConnell, have been seen in some rather steamy clinches in their time in the house.
Stephanie entered the house with the full support of boyfriend Sam Reece.
However, following some serious flirting between Jeremy and Stephanie, her boyfriend seemed to think twice about their relationship.
Hi everyone, I will no longer be supporting Stephanie Davis… Thanks for all your support and love you have given me!! — Sam Reece (@SamReece) January 11, 2016
He later clarified that they were still a couple as he would “never end a relationship over text or social media” but that he would “be talking to [Stephanie] when she leaves the Big Brother house”. Looks like she won’t be celebrating too much when she leaves.
The housemates and public alike have been incredibly vocal with their dislike of her behaviour; someone even managed to hack into her wikipedia page to vent their anger.
There are now rumours Sam will be making an appearance in the house to rile things up. It wouldn’t surprise us, CBB has stooped lower in the past.
The saga continued when Jeremy confessed his “love” for Stephanie telling her: “I look at you and I want to look at you more…and it’s not horny.” Oh so romantic. However, things seem to have taken a turn for the worse with Stephanie having a brainwave and remembering she quite likes her actual boyfriend. This naturally didn’t go down too well with Jeremy who proceeded to tell Big Brother: “It’s too much! My head has melted. I don’t want to speak to her. I just don’t get it. She’s the one who’s not being honest and real.”
Let’s not forget poor Jeremy is human after all, as was proven in this adorable parenting task on Thursday (21.01.2016).
They’re dropping like flies
In just 24 hours we found out about the double whammy of David Gest and Angie Bowie leaving the house on medical grounds.
Kristina was the third housemate to be evicted on Tuesday night (19.01.2016) leaving just 10 housemates behind – of which seven are nominated for the next eviction.
With housemates flying off the handle and threatening to leave every five minutes, who knows what’s in store for us over the coming weeks?!
