Emilia Clarke posts emotional goodbye to Game of Thrones
Emilia Clarke has waved goodbye to Game of Thrones now that filming for season eight has finally come to a close.
We don’t even want to think about parting with our favourite TV series next year, but the poor cast and crew have had to face that trauma already.
Daenerys Targaryen actress, Emilia Clarke, has posted her own message of farewell and thanks to the show, having starred in the hit HBO series since season one was released in 2011.
Posting an image from Ireland on Instagram, Clarke wrote: “Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade.”
“It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing #💔#lastseasonitis”
…Hold on while we just fight back the tears.
The GoT cast were also clearly moved by Clarke’s emotional post, and rushed to send their co-star comments of love and praise. Lena Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister, wrote: “Sweet words. Love you and HOLY balls. #itistheend”. Samwell Tarly actor, John Bradley-West, added: “It’s been the best. Ever. And you’ve been incredible.”
Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo in season one, simply wrote: “Love u. Proud of you.”
Game of Thrones season 8 is expected to air in early 2019.
