Ferne McCann’s ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins has 8 months added to prison sentence for using smuggled phone
Ferne McCann’s ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins has been jailed for a further eight months after using a smuggled phone in prison.
The TOWIE star’s ex-boyfriend and father to their baby girl Sunday was sentenced to a further eight months in prison at Woolwich Crown Court today (Wednesday, January 17), after the Daily Star Online released a video of Arthur using a phone in his cell.
Judge Nicholas Heathcote Williams said: “The presence of a mobile phone or component part such as a Sim card has many implications, not only for the prison establishment, but also the wider environment.
“It provides a prisoner or prisoners with an opportunity to communicate they would otherwise not have. This therefore allows them to act in a way prison is supposed to prevent them from doing.”
Arthur Collins’ defence claimed he needed to contact Ferne, who was heavily pregnant with his unborn child at the time.
Collins’ lawyer, Audrey Mogan, told the court: “He did not have the phone for any sinister purpose.
“His partner at the time was heavily pregnant and gave birth the following November.”
Arthur was originally jailed for 20 years in December, after being found guilty of an acid attack at Mangle E8 nightclub in London.
