I’m A Celebrity’s Ant and Dec receive an email from Stephen Hawking
Following their “distasteful” Stephen Hawking sketch on I’m A Celeb, presenters Ant and Dec have received an email from the professor himself.
The Geordie duo created a bit of controversy on the show last month with their Stephen Hawking sketch on I’m A Celebrity. The pair pretended to call the professor during one of their segments after a clip was shown of Scarlett Moffatt talking about the time she attempted to email Stephen Hawking about his theory on time and time travel via a Hotmail account.
Ant dialled a phone number and pretended to speak to Hawking before an automated voice similar to his own electronic one made a response.
The joke didn’t go down too well with Twitter users, many of whom found the gag somewhat insensitive:

However, it appears that Stephen Hawking is clearly not as outraged as the viewing public. The genius has since contacted Ant and Dec to reassure them that no offence was taken.
Dec told The Mirror: “We got an email from Stephen Hawking after that.
“He said he enjoyed her thoughts on the pyramids and enjoyed the sketch that we did in the studio. So that was a highlight.”
Scarlett Moffatt was crowned Queen of the Jungle last Sunday. Her ongoing enthusiasm, charm and hilariously funny one-liners on the series meant that she won the public’s vote over campmates Joel Dommett and Adam Thomas.
The star has already spoken about what she plans to do next now that she is out of the jungle, although we are still in the dark about whether a return to Gogglebox is on the cards.
Whatever the world of television has in store for the Geordie personality, we are sure this won’t be the last we see of Scarlett!
