Love Island to get an explosive Christmas special
We have news that’ll make your Christmas – Love Island is returning for a festive special.
The reality romance series has been a hit since it first aired on our screens in 2015, generating scandals galore, a heap of devoted followers and a second just-as-explosive series.
We can now confirm a very special festive edition of the series, planned for Christmas 2016.
The one-off special will see contestants from the summer series join winners Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey for a magical, winter-themed episode. Does this mean cosy cuddling in front of open fires instead of explosive antics on the beachfront? Probably not.
According to The Sun, a source said: “The whole project is currently in pre-production but there’s a real buzz around the idea. It’s just a case of working out the logistics with schedules and locations.”
It will be the first time some of the contestants on the show have reunited since their summer antics, and we have a feeling a few of them will be feeling very red-faced.
Series two winners Cara and Nathan are happier than ever, with plans to buy a home together, while runners-up Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen already live together in Essex.
Other couples who met on the show Scotty Thomas and Kady McDermott, Rykard Jenkins and Rachel Fenton, Sophie Gradon and Tom Powell, and Terry Walsh and Emma Woodham, are also experiencing the joys of happy relationships (at least according to social media!)
However, not all contestants will remember their time on the island quite as fondly – former Miss Great Britain Zara Holland was famously swiped of her crown after having sex on the daring show.
