Michael McIntyre back on BBC One for longest ever run
Michael McIntyre’s Big Show is returning to BBC One for its longest ever run.
The popular comedian will be back with the fourth series of his entertainment variety show in the autumn. The last season of the series aired in 2017 and climaxed with Michael McIntyre’s Big Chrismas Show.
The new series will comprise eight episodes, a two-episode extension from previous series.
Following the announcement, McIntyre said: “I’m thrilled at the continued success of the Big Show. Every series gets bigger and better and series four will be our most ambitious yet.
He confirmed that returning to the show will be popular segments including Send to All, where McIntyre sends a mischievous text to everybody in a celebrity guest’s phonebook, and Unexpected Star of the Show, where an unsuspecting audience member gets roped into performing the last piece of the night.
McIntyre continued: “There will be new audience surprises as well as returning favourites such as Send to All, the Midnight Gameshow and some extraordinary stunts for the Unexpected Star of the Show. I can’t wait!”
BBC Entertainment Boss Kate Phillips added: “Michael’s Big Show is always a big treat on BBC One and this one promises to be bigger and better than ever. I’m looking forward to more brilliant stand up and stand out games.”
