Negan warns us “things have changed” in new Walking Dead trailer
A new Walking Dead trailer has been released ahead of the show’s October premiere.
The thirty-second teaser heavily features Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), the new series villain who was first introduced at the end of season six. In a controversial season finale, Negan clubbed one member of Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) group to death – but fans are still unsure as to who the victim was.
The trailer shows new footage of Negan and his band of survivors, collectively named the Saviours. On the voiceover, Negan promises “things have changed” and “whatever you had going for you, that’s over.”
Most of the discussion leading up to the premiere on season seven has been based around the identity of Negan’s victim. One new clip seemed to suggest that fan favourite Daryl (Norman Reedus) could receive the fatal blow, while an interview given by Abraham actor Michael Cudlitz seemed to suggest his character was safe.
Of course, it was Glenn (Steven Yeun) who was murdered by Negan in the comics. However, the TV show has been known to diverge from its comic roots on key character moments, notably axing the deaths of series regulars Carol and Abraham. The annoying truth? We just won’t know until October.
The Walking Dead will return to AMC in the US on October 23, with episodes set to air just 24 hours later on October 24 on FOX UK.
