Robert Webb and David Mitchell reveal plans to bring back Peep Show
Don’t freak out, but the beloved British comedy Peep Show could be making a comeback.
Robert Webb and David Mitchell, who starred as Mark and Jeremy on the show, have revealed plans to return to the iconic sitcom at some point in the future.
Speaking to NME Magazine, Mitchell confessed: “When it ended, Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong and Rob [Webb] and I agreed that we would be up for doing a return to those characters in 10 or more years time.
Webb continued to explain why there would need to be a longer time gap before they get started on any sort of comeback series.
“In its perfect form, it is over,” he said. “I know that all four of us have said that we’re keeping the door on the latch for a return when Mark and Jeremy are much older, and I mean seriously older, otherwise it’s just a tired reboot.”
We may have to wait a while for this precious revival, but at least fans have another Mitchell and Webb series to get stuck into this evening. The duo will star in brand new series Back, which sees Mitchell’s character take over his father’s pub business when he dies.
However, his plans are complicated by the arrival of a former foster child of his parents, played by Webb, who is keen to reconnect with his ‘true’ family.
Back premieres tonight (Wednesday) at 10pm on Channel 4.
