From Rye Bakes To High Stakes: Sue Perkins Joins Thronecast
Who remembers last year’s lackluster presenting on Thronecast? Sorry, were you trying to block it from your mind? We can relate!
Mercifully, Sky Atlantic has announced an entire reworking of the Game of Thrones companion show, which will be fronted by none other than Sue Perkins of Great British Bake Off fame. For the uninitiated, Thronecast airs after Game of Thrones on Sky Atlantic and features live reactions, behind-the-scenes action and interviews with the show’s stars.
Perkins is most famous for her work alongside comedy partner Mel Geidroyc presenting Bake Off, though the two have more recently been busy with new daytime talk show Mel & Sue.
Perkins takes over from comedienne Rachel Parris, although we’re told Rachel’s former co-host Jamie East will return to Thronecast for special reports. There’s no word yet on how Westeros-savvy Sue is, but we can hope, right?
Thronecast will launch with a special hour-long episode immediately after the UK launch of Game of Thrones on Monday, April 13.
