Tetris live-action movie trilogy: Will the puzzle game make for a blockbuster?
So, the world of filmmaking has truly gone to the dogs, as Threshold Entertainment has gone ahead and secured no less than US$80 million in funding for a Tetris live-action movie trilogy.
Slated to begin filming in 2017, the adaptation of the iconic arcade game is yet to have a script, or even a name. However, we haven’t exactly been filled with confidence by Threshold Entertainment’s Larry Kasanoff, who promises of the first installment: “It will be a cool surprise”.
As per usual, we mined the internet for our favourite reactions to the ludicrous news. And as per usual, the internet didn’t disappoint:
“When we can finally put the pieces together this might just stack up.”
“The script is going to be awful as I hear the screenwriter is suffering from writer’s block.”
“I hope the cast learn their lines.”
“Jason Statham for the long 4 role.”
“I hear the script has hit a brick wall already.”
“Pixels wasn’t stupid enough an idea?”
“Hoping we’ll get to see that dark and gritty Noughts and Crosses movie I’ve been longing for.”
“Everyone is in a mad Scrabble to put together their own cinematic universe.”
Stay tuned for more Tetris movie news as we hear it.
