The Winds of Winter Set For 2016 Release?
George R.R. Martin’s Spanish publishers are confident the next book in his highly-acclaimed A Song of Ice and Fire series will be published next year.
According to Paste Magazine, the book’s Spanish editor Alejo Cuervo let slip that the publishers are expecting the book to be released “next year”, barring any disasters.
Cuervo was speaking in an interview with a local radio station at the time.
Watchers on the Wall have tracked down a copy of the interview and translated it into English.
Radio Host: The sixth book will be?
Cuervo: It is expected next year
Radio Host: In English, but in Spanish when will it be?
Cuervo: We have been promised the manuscript in advance of the release in English which we will translate, there won’t be a big difference.*
Radio Host: But you are equally sure it will be next year?
Cuervo: Well, let’s see, confident…but a meteor could fall
Strong words for Cuervo. The news will come as a pleasant surprise to most A Song of Ice and Fire fans, but after experience with Martin’s writing speed, many won’t be holding their breath that this report is accurate.
