There’s a Hunger Games-style twist in store for X Factor bootcamp hopefuls
There will be a Hunger Games-style twist in store for X Factor hopefuls who make it through to this Sunday’s first bootcamp episodes, Telly Mix has revealed.
Remember that moment right after the Hunger Games tournament began and all the tributes scrambled to the cornucopia to grab the best weapons and supplies? That’s sort of what the X Factor has planned for its tributes – sorry, contestants – this weekend, without the bloodbath (we hope).
Contestants will face a new challenge called the “wall of songs” this Sunday. The wall of songs is a wall covered with potential songs that the contestants can perform. During this challenge, hopefuls will have to race each other to their preferred songs in order to win the chance to perform them.
That’s right, X Factor hopefuls must now race each other to the wall to get the song the want first – or suffer the embarrassment of singing a song or style they barely know.
Among the list of songs that will be available for pinching at the wall include Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition”, Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling”, R Kelly’s “Ignition”, Lukas Graham’s “7 Years”, Taylor Swift’s “Style” and “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys.
That’s not the only twist however. The wall will contain certain songs multiple times, and those contestants who pick the same song will be forced to sing as a group. So an unpopular song might be a massive advantage in front of the judges!
Those who make it through the brutal new-look bootcamp will face the even more brutal Six Chairs Challenge in the next round.
