WATCH: New The Voice 2017 teaser trailer
The very first look at series 6 of The Voice 2017 has been released.
The premiere trailer has officially landed, so for those of you who are itching for The Voice to make it’s return, here is a little teaser of what is to come.
The preview sees The Voice coaches being elevated out of their chairs, launching into space and zero gravity.
“Hang on to your seat,” warns presenter Emma Willis.
As he floats up into the air, we also hear an echo of will.i.am saying: “Wow, this is dope.”
The four coaches will soon be sitting in those iconic spinning chairs for the first round of blind auditions. Except this year, there’s a difference. Now, if a coach does not hit their buzzer, their back will remain to the contestant.
Previously, the blind auditions allowed all four of the coaches to see the singing contestant by the end of their audition even if they had chosen to not press the button. However, this new format will create an interesting new dynamic between the rival judges, as certain coaches remain in the dark about who exactly their competition is.
Host Emma Willis gave her opinion on the new twist. She told Digital Spy: “I think it is good – they do it in other territories on The Voice around the world, and it instigates different chat between the coaches.
“When they see someone who hasn’t turned, it’s very apologetic. But if they haven’t seen that person and don’t have to interact directly, it’s a bit more ‘that was a little bit off key’, where they might not have said having seen them. So I think it’s a good thing for the show.”
“I know if I was in that person’s position and nobody turned then I’d want to get out of there!”
The new promo comes before an extended look at The Voice UK 2017 airs on Sunday night, and the new series will return in January.
The Voice will return in January 2017 on ITV.
